How to add seam allowance

All our patterns include seam allowances, but sometimes you might want to remove them, which is easy since our patterns also include the garment outlines (stitch lines).

Adding seam allowance takes just a minute or two per pattern piece. Trace the pattern onto your fabric, then mark your allowance around it with a seam gauge, a quilting ruler or a double tracing wheel. You can even tape two pencils together for the job. Then cut along the outer line, cutting off the line rather than along it, so that you don't accidentally add more than you intended.

If you have a project that requires a lot of pattern or fit changes, we think you'll appreciate the increased control it gives you to make the changes without seam allowance.
